Khaberni - The number of individual establishments registered with the Central Commercial Registry Directorate at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply increased by 5% during the first nine months of the current year compared to the same period last year, according to the ministry's official spokesperson Yenal Barmawi.
Barmawi explained that the number of individual commercial establishments registered since the beginning of the year has reached 19,029, compared to 18,041 individual establishments registered for the same period last year, thus registering an increase of 988 individual establishments, according to Al-Ghad.
He indicated that the commercial names registered during the first nine months of the current year saw an increase of 15%, reaching 7,520 new commercial names compared with 6,552 commercial names for the same period last year.
Barmawi clarified that the majority of the new individual establishments are concentrated in the commercial, service, professional, and industrial sectors.
Barmawi considered the increase in the number of individual commercial establishments an indicator of the attractiveness of the business environment and the increasing interest in establishing various projects, especially small and medium-sized ones (micro-projects), which contributes to revitalizing the business environment and providing job opportunities.
Barmawi mentioned that these positive indicators are in line with the government's executive program for the economic modernization vision, which pays great attention to developing the business environment and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, through supporting entrepreneurship and empowering small and medium-sized projects, and simplifying procedures for investors.
He confirmed the ministry's commitment to accelerating the procedures related to the registration of individual establishments and commercial names and to automating and facilitating the procedures so that most transactions today are carried out electronically, and there is no need for the owner of the establishment or commercial name to directly visit the ministry.
