Khaberni - The head of Bani Obaid district municipality, Manar Radaideh, said that the municipality started on Friday to pave several roads within the areas it oversees, at a cost reaching 1.6 million dinars.
She explained that the targeted roads for paving are the road connecting Al-Homsi roundabout and Al-Awadeen Palace, and the road between Wadi Al-Ghafar intersection and the signal of Prince Rashid Military Hospital.
Radaideh confirmed that the municipality operates with a clear vision focusing on paving vital roads and rehabilitating them to serve the citizens in neighborhoods and large population clusters, as well as public and private schools; to provide safe and comfortable roads for citizens and vehicles, enhance effective connectivity between different areas, and boost economic and social development in various areas. Additionally, improving the transport infrastructure, expanding existing roads, enhancing their quality, and creating new roads, helps reduce congestion, improves traffic flow, enhances quality of life, and facilitates access to essential services such as hospitals, schools, and markets; thus contributing to improving the quality of life for the residents and enhancing social development, and facilitates the movement of commerce and transportation.
It is noted that the population of Bani Obaid district is about 225,880 people, with an area of 188 square kilometers, encompassing the areas of Al-Husn, Al-Nuaimah, Eidoun, Kutum, Al-Sareeh, and Shtnna.
