A touching message from Mohamed Fadel Shaker to his father

Khaberni - Mohamed, the son of Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker, sent a touching and emotional message to his father through his new song "Ya Tair AlTair," where Mohamed posted the video across his social media accounts, dedicating the artistic work to his father.

This step comes from the rising son who has achieved wide success in his latest artistic releases alongside his father, as a way to express his longing and nostalgia for Fadel Shaker, who is still awaiting trial after surrendering himself to the Lebanese army a few weeks ago. The lyrics of the song reflect the depth of emotions the son is experiencing, expressing his tears and regret over the separation from his father, in addition to his feelings of anxiety and longing for his beloved.

This initiative came two days after a preliminary interrogation session Fadel Shaker attended before the head of the Criminal Court in Beirut, Judge Bilal Al-Danawi, which was limited to formal proceedings in preparation for his trial scheduled for the fifteenth of December 2025.

Fadel Shaker surrendered himself to the Lebanese army on October 5, at the entrance to the Ain al-Hilweh camp in southern Lebanon, related to the events of Abra that erupted in 2013, which saw armed clashes between supporters of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir and the Lebanese army.

In September 2025, Mohamed Shaker, son of artist Fadel Shaker, responded to statements made by artist Ragheb Alama, which he considered offensive to his father. In video clips he posted through the "Story" feature on his Instagram account, Mohamed sent a message to Ragheb Alama, questioning the reason for the ongoing attack on his father despite 13 years passing, noting that his father never refused any attempt at reconciliation.

Mohamed confirmed that his father did not kill anyone and only took up arms to defend himself, explaining that the circulated audio recording of his father is old, dating back to 5 or 7 years ago, and was a response to the severe attack they faced during that period.

He also mentioned that his father used to sing Ragheb Alama's songs at his concerts as proof of no hard feelings, questioning the reason for the continuing dispute. He confirmed that his father is now focusing on his art and his family, waiting for the truth to emerge and his innocence to be proven against those who wronged him over the past years.

Fadel Shaker was born in Saida in 1969 to a Lebanese father and a Palestinian mother, and is considered one of the most prominent singers in the Arab world, known for his romantic works and warm voice, until he announced his retirement from singing in 2012 after his affiliation with Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir.

In June 2013, violent clashes broke out in the town of Abra near Saida between the Lebanese army and a group led by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir, resulting in the death of 18 soldiers and 11 militants. Shaker was accused of participating in the fighting although he repeatedly denied these accusations in subsequent interviews. After the events, Shaker hid in the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp, and the military judiciary issued an in-absentia ruling against him in 2020 for 15 years of imprisonment with hard labor on charges related to terrorism, in addition to another ruling of seven years imprisonment and a financial penalty on charges of financing Assir's group and securing arms and ammunition.

In 2018, Shaker announced his return to the music scene, and released a collection of new songs that achieved widespread popularity, including "Leh Al-Jarh," "Ma'a Al-Salamah," "Ya Tura," "Lamma Betewhashini," "Habeitak," "Gheyeb," "Washtouni," "Sabah Al-Khair Ya Lubnan." His songs were successful, where the song "Kifak En-' fakerk." has surpassed 113 million views on YouTube, receiving accolades from Arab artists like Saber Al-Ruba'i.

In October 2025, Fadel Shaker surrendered himself to the Lebanese army at the entrance to Ain al-Hilweh camp in preparation for the closure of his judicial file related to the Abra incidents, with his trial expected in December 2025, amid significant interest from the Lebanese and Arab public.

In recent years, Fadel Shaker's appearances have been limited to a few media appearances and limited musical works, but he recently returned with new releases that have experienced widespread popularity, including the song "Kifak En-'fakerk" which he performed with his son Mohamed and has garnered over 113 million views on Shaker's official YouTube channel since its release last July.

These new artistic works reflect the strong relationship between father and son, and the deep human emotions that bind them, especially in the anticipation of the trial and the long absence of Fadel Shaker from the music scene.
