Khaberni - Al-Kindi Hospital, in collaboration with Petra University, held a scientific medical awareness day on the green space in the middle of the campus; it provided its medical services to around 600 staff and students of Petra University, including free medical consultations, blood pressure and diabetes tests, CPR training, consultations in pharmacy and nutrition, laboratory tests, and body mass calculation using the latest devices under the supervision of qualified medical, nursing, and technical staff.
This activity included a comprehensive scientific program and specialized educational lectures, where the consultant in gynecology and obstetrics and IVF, Dr. Mariam Abu Halawa, gave a medical lecture titled "Cervical Cancer and Breast Cancer".
Mrs. Rasha Fakhr El Din, Head of Community Communication and Marketing, from the Jordanian Breast Cancer Program, spoke about the role of the Jordanian Breast Cancer Program in community awareness and education.
Ms. Alaa Ata, Head of the Breast Imaging Unit at Al-Kindi Hospital, gave a lecture on radiology and mammography and methods of self-examination.
Ms. Salam Jabran, Head of the Nutrition Department at Al-Kindi Hospital, gave a lecture on smart nutrition during breast cancer.
One of the survivors of breast cancer shared her experience with the disease and the methods she used for recovery, thankfully.
Dr. Abu Halawa presented commemorative shields to both Petra University and the Jordanian Breast Cancer Program.
The opening of the scientific day was attended by the Vice President of the Board of Directors at Al-Kindi Hospital and the consultant in gynecology and obstetrics and IVF, Dr. Mariam Abu Halawa, and from Petra University, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, Professor Dr. Riyadh Awad, the Dean of the College of Dental Medicine, Professor Dr. Firas Sleihat, and the Director of the Department of Public and International Relations, Mr. Alaaddin Arabiyat, and the team from the Jordanian Breast Cancer Program.
It is noteworthy that Al-Kindi Hospital is a specialized hospital that receives patients from 75 countries around the world and contains all medical specialties and specialized centers in bariatric surgery, cosmetic surgery and liposuction, vascular surgery, a fertilization center, lithotripsy, interventional radiology, cancer detection (breast cancer), organ transplantation, catheterization and open-heart surgeries, a gastroenterology and bile duct endoscopy unit, as well as twelve specialized operating rooms for major surgeries, a comprehensive emergency dental department, and a special department for ambulances and emergencies with the latest equipment and modern ambulances.
