Amid Strict Security Measures Fadel Shakers Interrogation Session Ends in Beirut

Khaberni - Beirut's Palace of Justice witnessed the preliminary interrogation session of the Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker before the head of the criminal court, Judge Bilal Dhannawi, in the context of the lawsuit filed against him related to the Abra Saida incidents, which date back to 2013.

As reported by "ET Bel Arabi," Shaker attended the court at 8:30 AM amid strict security measures and the presence of security forces around the Palace of Justice, preparing for any emergency. The session was limited to formal and routine procedures, in preparation for the official trial scheduled for December 15th.

During the session, Shaker was asked a series of procedural questions related to his identity, the name of his representing lawyer, and whether he had faced any threats before the trial date. He was then allowed to leave the courtroom immediately without any further procedures.
Despite more than a decade since the Abra incident, the judicial file remains open, awaiting a final verdict. Shaker has denied involvement in the acts of violence on multiple occasions, asserting that his role during the events was "civilian, not military".

Meanwhile, local media sources report that there is a possibility of closing Fadel Shaker's file before the end of this year, paving the way for a new chapter in his artistic career. This summons comes years after his disappearance following his involvement in arms-related issues and accusations of involvement in terrorist acts in previous events.

Fadel Shaker surrendered himself weeks ago to a military intelligence force at the Hasba checkpoint leading to the Ain al-Hilweh camp in Saida, where he was walking toward the checkpoint relaxed and undisturbed, chatting optimistically with his companions, according to witnesses for Reuters.
