After being devastated by injuries Ronaldos former teammate is working in construction

Khaberni - Right-back Sindrim Kameraj, who was once among the most promising talents in Swiss football, was forced to retire in the summer of 2024, at only 25 years old, after a series of serious injuries that plagued him throughout his career.

In just 7 years, his life underwent a drastic change, as 3 knee ligament tears abruptly ended his football career, and today he finds himself away from the fields working for a construction company.

In an interview with Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Kameraj explained, "Perhaps I could have been more patient or listened to my body better before. But I don't blame myself; I did what I believed was right at the time. Regret doesn't change the past."

In 2018, when he was only 19 years old, Kameraj jumped from FC Luzern in Switzerland to the youth ranks of Juventus, where he played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Swiss said, "When I received the offer from Juventus, it was like a dream. At first, I couldn't believe it. I felt proud and excited, but also nervous because I knew it was a big step."

Training alongside Cristiano Ronaldo had a profound impact on him, and he said: "It was surreal, something special. His energy pushed you to do more. What I admired most was his mindset: he never stopped and always demanded more from himself. He once told me, 'Talent is worth nothing without perseverance and hard work'."

He continued, "This phrase stuck in my mind. He taught me the true meaning of professionalism."

After his stint in Italy, Kameraj returned to Switzerland and also played in Kosovo, the country of his nationality due to his family origins. He also represented both countries at the youth national team level.
