Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing commenced today, Wednesday, the execution of maintenance works for the vital road from the Jerash Visitor Center signal to the Kairouan roundabout and the military institution towards the governorate building to improve traffic flow and ease congestion within the city.
The Jerash Public Works Director, Engineer Ikhlas Al-Khashashneh, stated that the tender value amounts to 209 thousand dinars, and the implementation period will take about 30 days, noting that the maintenance works include scraping the existing asphalt mix and repaving the road with a new basalt mix, in addition to constructing a central island and equipping the road with public safety elements and traffic signs.
She added that the project will be implemented in two phases, where the first starts from the Jerash Visitor Center signal to the Kairouan roundabout, covering about 1100 meters, while the second phase includes the road from the military institution signal towards the governorate building covering about 400 meters, indicating that there will be coordination with the relevant authorities to make temporary traffic diversions if necessary, to ensure the safety of citizens and the smooth movement during the work period.
Khashashneh confirmed that the maintenance of this vital road is part of the ongoing efforts to develop the road network in the Jerash governorate and enhance traffic safety and the quality of services provided to citizens and visitors, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to improving infrastructure and keeping pace with development movement in the governorate.
