Khaberni - The leaders of the parliamentary blocs and the candidates for the presidency seat of the House of Representatives met in the presence of a number of parliamentary leaders at the house of MP Dr. Mustafa Al-Khasawneh this Wednesday evening to discuss the file of the House of Representatives presidential elections for the second ordinary parliamentary term, which will be inaugurated by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein with a throne speech on the upcoming Sunday, 28/10/2025.
During the meeting, the attendees emphasized the need to work on the cohesion of the council and the unity of the parliamentary row, and everyone's pursuit of elevating parliamentary work and serving the nation and citizens, with the members bearing their constitutional responsibility in supporting the Hashemite leadership, especially in light of the conditions the region is undergoing.
The attendees also affirmed that the candidates for the presidency of the House of Representatives, His Excellency Mazen Al-Qadi and Dr. Mustafa Al-Khasawneh, agreed, with parliamentary efforts characterized by amity and concord, to announce Dr. Mustafa Al-Khasawneh's withdrawal from the candidacy for the presidency of the House of Representatives as a tribute to the council and the parliamentary blocs in favor of His Excellency Mazen Al-Qadi.
The attendees also confirmed that this step reflects the consensus between the fellow members of parliament and the parliamentary blocs, which will result in parliamentary work that serves the nation and meets the lofty royal aspirations to move forward in the political modernization path that the nation is undertaking.
The attendees appreciated Dr. Mustafa Al-Khasawneh's honorable stance on his withdrawal in favor of His Excellency Mazen Al-Qadi, which if indicative of anything, demonstrates his generosity, ethics, and great appreciation for his colleagues and members of the parliamentary blocs and leadership who were honored by his hosting at his home.
Dr. Mustafa Al-Khasawneh emphasized that his withdrawal from the electoral race aimed at enhancing the cohesion of the council and unifying its ranks towards a parliamentary work that serves the nation and meets the aspirations of the victorious Hashemite leadership, and further enhances the political reform process led by His Majesty King Abdullah II the Great and His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince the Faithful, asserting that he will remain with the nation and the citizen, and will be up to the confidence of His Majesty the Great and the Jordanian people who expect from the House of Representatives more of the supervisory and legislative role in the coming stage.
For his part, Mazen Al-Qadi expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Mustafa Al-Khasawneh who honored him with the withdrawal in his favor, and announced his support for him in reaching the presidency of the council, as well as thanks to the blocs and parliamentary leaders who practiced an honorable electoral movement indicative of the level of awareness among the representatives of the people and their belief in collective work and team spirit, pledging to Almighty God to remain the loyal soldiers to His Majesty the King the Great and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince the Faithful, and to our dear Jordanian people.
