Khaberni - The General Command of Sharjah Police is implementing the decision of the Executive Council of the Emirate regarding the dropping of traffic violations, which specifies the dropping of violations that are more than 10 years old, as part of Sharjah Government's commitment to support decisions that enhance community stability.
So far, 284 people have benefited from this decision, with more than 7000 traffic violations dropped, according to the defined controls and procedures. The decision also stipulates a fee of 1000 dirhams for submitting a dropping request, with exemptions for certain humanitarian and special cases, such as: the death of the vehicle owner, or their departure from the country for at least 10 continuous years, or abandoned vehicles where the owner cannot be reached. Those who meet the conditions can benefit from the decision by visiting traffic and licensing service centers.
The General Command of Sharjah Police urges the public to abide by traffic laws and avoid committing traffic violations to maintain public safety and enhance traffic discipline. It also reminds of the Executive Council's decision regarding the regulation of exemptions from violations, as the decision grants a 35% discount on payment within 60 days from the date of the violation.
