Khaberni - The Louvre Museum reopened its doors to visitors on Wednesday morning, four days after the theft of eight pieces of jewelry valued at approximately 88 million euros.
The first visitors began entering the museum, which is the most visited in the world, at 9:00 AM, its usual opening time. However, the Apollo Gallery, the scene of the theft, will remain closed, according to the museum's management as reported by Agence France-Presse.
Hundreds of investigators continue to search for the culprits of the attack, suspecting that an organized gang climbed a ladder mounted on a truck to break into the museum, and dropped a diamond-studded crown during their escape.
The stolen items included eight valuable pieces, including an emerald and diamond necklace given by Napoleon I to his wife Empress Marie Louise, and a tiara belonging to Empress Eugenie, comprising about two thousand diamonds.
