In support of Jordanian sports, the Cabinet decided in its session held today, Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, to approve the exemption of the Olympic Committee, and all the Jordanian sports federations under it, from the sales tax on their revenues from sponsorship contracts, marketing, and revenues for selling broadcasting rights and ticket sales revenues.
This decision follows one made by the Cabinet in August of the previous month, exempting the Jordan Football Association from sales tax on its revenues from sponsorship contracts and marketing, broadcasting rights, and match ticket sales revenues; following a visit by Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan to the Jordan Football Association.
The Cabinet's decision today also included approving the sporting status on donations paid to the Jordan Olympic Committee and all the Jordanian sports federations under it, allowing any individual to deduct donations made in the Kingdom to the Olympic Committee from their taxable income under the conditions stated in the Income Tax Law No. (34) for the year 2014.
This decision comes within the framework of the government's continued support for the progress of the sports movement in the Kingdom in light of the recent achievements, notably the national football team's qualification to the 2026 World Cup finals.
