Khaberni - The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced today, Wednesday, the execution of a special operation in coordination with the Syrian authorities, resulting in the seizure of 370 kilograms of drugs and the arrest of several internationally wanted individuals.
A statement from the ministry stated, "The General Directorate for Drug and Psychotropic Substances Control conducted a special operation in direct coordination with the Drug Control Department in the Syrian Arab Republic, where one of the directorate's detachments moved to Syrian territory, and was able to seize 370 kilograms of drugs through joint field and intelligence coordination."
The statement continued, "The operation also resulted in the arrest of several suspects who are internationally wanted and who form part of cross-border smuggling networks."
The statement added, "This operation is part of a series of joint international efforts carried out by the General Directorate in cooperation with neighboring countries, within the framework of ongoing security and intelligence coordination to combat this dangerous scourge."
