Khaberni - The social committee at Al Kindi Hospital, in collaboration with the National Blood Bank Directorate at the Ministry of Health, held a blood donation campaign last Monday which lasted for one day in the emergency department courtyard of the hospital.
The campaign, which saw a large participation from employees, visitors, and the local community and experienced significant engagement, aimed to enhance the concept of social cohesion and solidarity among different social categories to promote volunteer work and highlight the importance of blood donation in saving lives and promoting awareness about the health benefits that accrue to blood donors.
The administration of Al Kindi Hospital praised the role played by the Ministry of Health, represented by the National Blood Bank Directorate, in providing safe blood for citizens and residents after all necessary medical and laboratory tests have been conducted, in addition to ongoing blood donation campaigns across all sectors that work to promote a culture of selflessness and giving among community members and support the National Blood Bank with the necessary units to provide the necessary stock of blood to cover the need for units for patients and the injured, and secure hospitals with blood.
It is worth mentioning that Al Kindi Hospital is a specialized hospital that receives its patients from 75 countries around the world and contains all medical specialties and specialized centers in bariatric surgery, cosmetic surgery and liposuction, vascular surgery, fertility center, lithotripsy, interventional radiology, cancer detection (breast cancer), organ transplantation, catheterization and open-heart surgery, gastrointestinal and biliary endoscopy unit, as well as twelve specialized operation rooms for major surgeries, emergency dental services with comprehensive facilities, and a specialized emergency and ambulance department with the latest equipment and modern ambulances.
