Israeli Knesset Votes Today on West Bank Annexation Bill

Khaberni - The General Assembly of the Israeli Knesset votes on Wednesday on a bill to annex the occupied West Bank to Israel by imposing "Israeli sovereignty" over areas therein.

According to the Israeli Public Radio "Kan", the leader of the extreme right-wing "Noam" party, Avi Maoz, will be the one to present the bill for voting.

If the bill is defeated today, it will not be possible to reintroduce it to the Knesset for a period of 6 months.

In July, the Knesset had ratified a declaration calling for the imposition of "Israeli sovereignty" in the West Bank by a majority of 71 Knesset members.

The Knesset’s decision supporting the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank met with widespread international condemnation, considered a violation of international law, and a step that greatly undermines the possibility of implementing a two-state solution.
