Khaberni - Layla Abdullah, a Lebanese actress residing in Kuwait, revealed her readiness to participate in a new drama titled "Al-Ghumeida", scheduled to be shown during the Ramadan season of 2026, during her presence at the eighth edition of the El Gouna Film Festival.
Layla Abdullah explained that the new series consists of 30 episodes, and features a group of the most prominent stars of Gulf drama.
She pointed out that the script is written by the writer Heba Mashari Hamada, explaining that the events take place in the 1970s in Kuwait, a historical period filled with memories and humane elements that attract the viewer.
Layla Abdullah confirmed that the choice of this historical period was due to the drama makers' desire to reintroduce the details of a time associated with beautiful memories for the audience.
She added that the works of those decades carry a special character that stimulates nostalgia, and that she personally is inclined to roles that belong to those times due to the diversity in characters and emotions.
Layla Abdullah revealed that the choice of the name of the series was not random, indicating that there is a puzzle associated with the title of the work that will be revealed as the episodes are shown, and she described the experience as different and includes suspenseful elements that will make the audience anticipate the events from the first episode.
It is scheduled that a number of art stars will participate in the series "Al-Ghumeida", including Huda Hussein, Fatima Al-Safi, Mahmoud BouShahri, Luluwa Almulla, Abdulrahman Al-Aql, Ibrahim Al-Harbi, and Zahra Al-Kharji.
