Khaberni - A video from Karnataka, India sparked widespread outrage after it depicted a shocking scene where a Sanskrit language teacher was seen violently assaulting one of his students in a religious school.
The video displayed the teacher, identified as "Veereish Hiremath", confronting the student for several minutes before throwing him to the ground and delivering repeated kicks.
It was reported that the assault occurred after the student used his mobile phone to call his parents, which enraged the teacher and led him to act with excessive violence.
Local reports confirmed that the student sustained visible injuries to his hand, while the teacher continued striking him despite his pleas to stop.
Gangadhar, the Executive Director of the temple associated with the school, quickly filed an official complaint against the teacher, prompting the "Naikanahatti" police to initiate a case against him.
Hours after the investigation began, the teacher disappeared from the scene, prompting authorities to launch a search operation to locate him.
The administrative officer of the region also visited the incident site to monitor developments, while several parents gathered in front of the school demanding strict action against the accused.
On the other hand, the Minister for Women and Child Development, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, confirmed that she had reviewed the details of the incident and ordered an urgent official report.
She emphasized the need to hold those responsible for this assault accountable, asserting that any attack on children in educational institutions is a serious transgression that cannot be tolerated.
