Khaberni - The crisis of leaking Mohamed Fouad's album songs continues to occupy public opinion, and accusations have been directed towards the artist Omar Kamal, who spoke about the behind-the-scenes of his new album that he is working on.
In an interview with "ET in Arabic," the Egyptian singer stated that the album was originally for the star Mohamed Fouad, but he did not know this information until after he had recorded several songs from it.
He added: "The album was Mohamed Fouad's project, when it came to me and I started working on it, I didn't know at first; I found out after I had recorded several songs. I did not take over the album or steal it. It was Mr. Mohamed Fouad who rejected it and he was the one who created a problem with the producer and sacrificed all the beautiful names and songs included."
He continued: "When I asked about the story of the album, it was said to me that it was offered to Wael Jassar and Haitham Shaker and due to the financial offer, there was a difference, one of them requested $50,000 per song performance, which is almost 30 million Egyptian pounds for 12 songs, another singer requested about $30,000, which means one and a half million per song besides what the producer spent and did and is still going to do for promotion and shooting, meaning he wants 15 million pounds in his hand just to sing."
He mentioned that the cost of the album is high, saying: "The album costs much more than 15 million Egyptian pounds, we have shot 12 music videos and made about 18 or 20 songs of course far exceeding that, it's a small number, not less than 20 million pounds, when I sat down with the creators of the album I told them I won’t take a penny, I myself want to sing for these people and make this album, I am doing this album without any compensation, doing it out of love."
He also revealed that he had not been in contact with the star Mohamed Fouad, confirming: "I haven't spoken to him because he definitely would be upset with me and angry but it was in your hands, it was yours, I am upset with him and his fans are upset with him because he is away from the art scene."
