Khaberni - The Grand Criminal Court in Amman, on Tuesday, sentenced a forty-year-old father to 30 years of temporary hard labor after convicting him of murdering his children, a five-year-old girl and her eight-month-old infant brother..
The court confirmed that the father committed the crime out of revenge against his wife due to family disputes, as he threw his children into the Zarqa Stream and left them to drown and die.
During the public session, the court convicted the accused of the felony of “intentional murder repeated twice” according to the provisions of the Jordanian Penal Code, Khaberni, and decided to combine the two sentences to make the final penalty 30 years of temporary hard labor, along with imposing court fees and expenses on him.
According to Roya TV, the details of the case indicate that the accused and the complainant wife were living with their children in the Zarqa Governorate. However, recurrent family problems caused the wife to leave the home in 2025 and return to her parents' house, while the father refused to allow her to take the children with her.
The court added that the father Khaberni planned to kill his children as a means of revenge against his wife, exploiting her deep attachment to them, and carried out his crime by throwing them into the Zarqa Stream after renting a car and taking the children to the location, where he threw them into the running water and left the site after ensuring their death.
The crime was discovered after the mother filed a complaint with the Family Protection Department Khaberni concerning the fate of her children, revealing the father's crime with the shocking statement: Your children are now at the King Talal Dam, and on the same evening, the bodies of the children were found.
