The referee cancels the Al Ahly vs Pyramids match A new crisis for Egyptian football

Khaberni - The Al Ahly vs. Pyramids match in the Republic's League for 2007-born witnessed a new crisis between "the red" and "the sky blue", which ended with the cancellation of the match.

Cairo 24 newspaper revealed what happened before the cancellation of the match between Al Ahly and Pyramids, which took place today Monday at Al Ahly stadium in Nasr City.

It explained that the referee Uday Ibrahim awarded a penalty against Pyramids just minutes after the match started, which was rejected by Pyramids club officials.

It added: "Pyramids players and their technical staff objected to the penalty awarded to the Al Ahly team".

It quoted statements made by the head of the youth sector at Al Ahly club, Walid Soliman, where he said: "We were not part of the crisis that occurred during the match, the referee is the one who decided to dismiss the head of the youth sector at Pyramids, and asked him to leave the field, and clearly told him.. If you do not leave, I will not continue the match, but the head of the youth sector at Pyramids refused to leave, so the decision to send him off was taken, and what happened next is a matter between him and the referee".

He added: "The referee will document what happened in his official report, and we will wait for the results of the investigations, we have a full video documenting the incident, and we have prepared a detailed report that we will submit to the competition committee and the media center to take what they see appropriate".
