Khaberni - The New York Times quoted U.S. officials saying there is concern within the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump about the possibility of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu withdrawing from the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
The newspaper added that the current strategy involves Vice President Trump's deputy, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner trying to prevent Netanyahu from resuming the war.
The New York Times quoted a White House official saying that Trump currently believes that Hamas leaders are ready to continue negotiations in good faith, and that the attack on the soldiers was carried out by elements not committed to Hamas' instructions.
The newspaper also quoted a senior U.S. official saying that Witkoff and Jared Kushner recognize that the situation is very sensitive and that the Gaza agreement is at risk of collapsing.
U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Israel on Monday morning on the eve of the arrival of J.D. Vance, the U.S. Vice President, a day after Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip following Tel Aviv's accusations of Hamas breaching the agreement.
