Khaberni - The case of the Ismailia student in Egypt garnered substantial attention in the foreign media after reports unveiled details of a crime committed by a 13-year-old child, who murdered his schoolmate and dismembered his body using an electric saw, and admitted eating part of his body out of "curiosity".

The British newspaper "The Sun" published an extensive report on the incident, describing the accused student as a "cannibal", explaining that the child perpetrator lured his companion to his family's home in Ismailia Province, assaulted him with a wooden stick until he died, and then used an electric saw to cut the body into small parts, some of which he placed in his school bag.

The report added that security forces found parts of the corpse near a shopping center, other parts under a bridge, and in a deserted area.

The newspaper also noted that investigations revealed the child tried to imitate scenes of violence seen in video games and movies, and stated that he wanted to "experiment what he saw on the screen".

Other foreign media outlets noted that the case caused a significant shock within and outside Egypt, describing it as "one of the most heinous crimes committed by a minor," mentioning that the Egyptian authorities decided to detain the accused and subject him to a comprehensive psychological examination, in addition to analyzing medical samples and comparing DNA with the victim.

The reports clarified that thousands of residents participated in the funeral of the victim in Ismailia, amid a state of public sadness and anger, while the public prosecution emphasized the need to review violent content that children can be exposed to online.
