Khaberni - Munir Al-Barsh, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, said on Monday that the ministry received 150 bodies of martyrs from the Israeli occupation through the Red Cross, indicating that most of the bodies bore signs of torture.
Al-Barsh explained that the ministry was only able to identify 31 bodies, noting that the martyrs had been detained for long periods.
He described the condition of the martyrs as "horrific," stating that the initial examination was shocking; the bodies bore severe signs of mutilation and torture.
He talked about how the martyrs had been bound by hands and feet with ropes and handcuffs, with ropes wrapped around their necks and blindfolds placed over their eyes.
He mentioned that some of the martyrs were shot directly in the head or chest from close range after being tortured.
He continued that the bodies of the martyrs showed some of them had been burned and crushed by heavy machinery in an attempt to hide the crimes.
He clarified that the martyrs were not killed in the field; they were subjected to systematic torture.
He pointed out that the bodies of the martyrs bore clear marks of autopsy, suggesting that the Israeli occupation had stolen organs from them.
Al-Barsh indicated that the health staff in the sector are unable to confirm the theft of organs from the martyrs; due to them being stored for a long time under very low temperatures.
The ministry announced on Sunday that it had received 15 bodies of martyrs released today from the Israeli occupation by the Red Cross.
