The story of Hind triggered a wide global reaction after she stayed trapped between the bodies of her relatives in the car targeted by the Israeli army, reaching out to her mother begging her to come and take her from inside the car, which was subject to heavy machine gun fire.
The Red Crescent received a call from the child Layan Hamada who was present with Hind in the same car, and she continued to plead with them until her voice was heard after being shot.
When the Red Crescent members called back, it turned out that Hind was still alive, and her family continued to communicate with her trying to calm her down by informing that the ambulance was on its way to evacuate her from the location.
Immediately, a team from the Red Crescent coordinated with Palestinian liaison to rescue her, but the connection with the team was lost hours after it launched to rescue Hind, and no one was able to communicate with it for 12 days.
