Khaberni - The Chinese government confirmed that it has found a set of compelling evidence of several cyber attacks launched by the US government on its main agencies responsible for time regulation in the country, according to a report published by Bloomberg.
The report indicates that the US National Security Agency exploited a set of security vulnerabilities in the mobile phones of employees at the National Time Service Center to obtain sensitive information since March 2022.
These vulnerabilities led to the theft of login data for the employees and its extensive exploitation since April 2023 to access the computers of employees at the National Service Center.
These accusations follow a series of similar accusations made by Western agencies against the Chinese government for relying on hackers to launch fierce cyber attacks on its computer systems, and the United Kingdom recently accused the Chinese government of relying on hackers to attack its institutions over the past ten years.
It also coincides with the escalation of tension and the economic crisis between the Chinese government and the United States, according to the report.
The National Time Regulation Service Center is one of the vital institutions for the Chinese government, as it is responsible for providing other agencies and companies with data related to universal time and the time difference between China and other countries.
The Chinese Ministry of State Security - in its official post announcing this matter on the "WeChat" platform - confirms that this data was used by several foreign servers around the world, adding that it has taken necessary measures to stop these attacks and better secure the center.
