Khaberni - Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, praised the pivotal role played by Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting security and stability in the Middle East.
Von der Leyen said in a post on the "X" platform that Europe attaches great importance to the role Jordan continues to play in the region, emphasizing her keenness to enhance partnership with the kingdom to build a future of peace and prosperity on both shores of the Mediterranean.
She added that the strategic and comprehensive partnership between the European Union and Jordan is moving forward with strength, announcing a new financial and investment package with Jordan worth 3 billion euros.
Von der Leyen noted that next year will witness the convening of the first summit of its kind between the European Union and Jordan, describing it as a new historic milestone in the journey of bilateral relations.
