Khaberni - Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby responded to the prompt action of actress Yousra, when she faced an embarrassing situation on the stage during the opening ceremony of the El Gouna Film Festival in its eighth edition, after Menna's dress unzipped at the back.
Menna said, in her first comment on the incident, that she was completely confident in Yousra’s reactions, whom she described as "reliable support".
Menna Shalaby added, during television statements on Sunday: "Yousra and I have a very strong human relationship. When the incident happened, I approached her and said 'save me', to which she quickly responded and dealt with the situation."
Menna continued: "This was a significant moment for me and Yousra, as the little girl who I once recommended for the series 'Where is My Heart?' and described her as talented, grows up before my eyes."
Egyptian actress Yousra saved Menna Shalaby from an embarrassing moment during the opening ceremony of the El Gouna Film Festival last Friday, after her warm embrace led to Menna's dress zipper coming undone as she went on stage to receive an honorary award, with Yousra quickly fixing the zipper herself amidst applause from the audience.
Menna Shalaby received the Creative Achievement Award in recognition of her rich artistic career and influential roles in Egyptian and Arab cinema, in a ceremony that was noteworthy for the attendance of stars from Egypt and the Arab world.
Menna dedicated the award to her mother, who taught her the meaning of "ambition, confidence, patience, and success," according to her statement, to the late director Radwan El Kashef with whom she began her career in the film "The Magician", and to all the prominent Egyptian artists she has worked with, including the star Yousra.
