Applied Sciences A Role Model Number and Deeprooted Excellence in Global and Local Rankings and Accreditations

Khaberni - The excellence of Applied Science Private University in rankings and accreditations was not a transient event or accidental achievement, nor was it born of the moment or a result of a temporary race, but rather it is the fruit of a clear institutional vision that made it a role model followed by many Jordanian and regional universities, pursuing quality, academic accreditations, and scientific research.

In this context, Dr. Haitham Abdullah Abu Khadijeh mentioned that Applied Science Private University has been leading this field for years as the first private university to attain local and global accreditations and rankings, while simultaneously looking with pride at the constructive movement it has participated in within the higher education environment. What the university started as a path towards excellence has now become a culture adopted by other universities, affirming that true leadership is not only measured by status but by being an inspiration to others and turning your excellence into a standard that everyone strives to reach.

Applied Science Private University realized early on that heading towards global rankings and accreditations is not an academic luxury but a strategic path that translates its commitment to quality and continuous development. Thus, it was the first Jordanian private university to early enter the global rankings, today securing its deserved place among the top 500 universities worldwide at rank 401-500 globally, maintaining its position at the top of the Times World University Rankings for the second consecutive year, besides being the first Arab and regional university and ranking 21st globally to receive a 5-Stars Plus rating in the QS Stars Rating System, the highest rating ever awarded. It also ranked 183rd in Asia in the Times Higher Education Asian University Rankings, leading all Jordanian universities, and positioned 37th in the Arab world in the QS Arab University Rankings, and globally ranked 791-800 in the QS World University Rankings.

In the field of scientific research, the university has confirmed its leadership as the top private university in Jordan in terms of scientific publishing on Scopus databases, with a total of 1726 papers since the beginning of 2025 to date, 483 papers ahead of the next private university. According to the results from SciVal, a platform specialized in scientific research statistics and part of Scopus, Applied Science's numbers show it as leading among private Jordanian universities in international and academic research cooperation, and cooperation with governmental institutions (2020 - October 2025), reflecting its leadership role in supporting scientific partnerships and boosting impactful research output.

Regarding academic staff, 45% of faculty members are graduates of universities ranked among the top 500 worldwide, and 5% are from universities ranked within the top 100 globally, reflecting the university’s prestigious level of academic expertise and excellence. Additionally, 11 researchers from the university were included in the top 2% of scientists globally, a goal that underscores the deep investment in scientific research and innovation.
The university also holds 11 patents registered in its name, besides a rich record of academic scholarships totaling 187 at the doctoral and master levels, with 144 scholars successfully completing their studies and being appointed as faculty members at the university, 30 others currently studying, and 10 continuing this established academic pursuit abroad.

This institutional excellence could not have been built without the university’s solid academic infrastructure, which focused on developing its programs according to the highest global standards. The College of Engineering and the Computer Science program obtained ABET international accreditation, while the College of Pharmacy received ACPE accreditation, and the Nursing College was the first to receive ACPE accreditation as the earliest French accreditation HCÉRES, with the College of Law following and the Business College attaining eligibility for the AACSB international accreditation.

Similarly, the Department of Digital Media attained ACA accreditation as the first media department in Jordan to achieve this distinction, while the Artificial Intelligence program in auditing and accounting was the first of its kind to receive British IOA accreditation. The Department of English Language and Translation was the first in the Middle East to gain British CIOL accreditation, while programs in physical therapy, medical laboratories, clinical nutrition, and marketing distinguished themselves with international accreditations and training partnerships in the UK, Australia, and Europe, making their graduates ambassadors of the university in the finest global centers and institutions.

Today, Applied Science Private University stands with confidence and pride, not just to say that it is at the forefront, but to affirm that real leadership is being an inspiration to others. Its journey is not merely a narrative of numeric achievements, but a continuous Jordanian success story, cementing the university’s status as a global academic edifice carrying the mission of education and innovation, and continuing to lead change in the local and regional higher education landscape.
