Khaberni - According to "South China Morning Post", citing the police, two people died when an Emirati cargo plane slid off the runway at Hong Kong International Airport.

The newspaper stated that "the Boeing 747 cargo plane, which was coming from Dubai, veered off the runway during its landing, collided with a ground control vehicle, and fell into the sea."

The newspaper, citing the police, said: "The death of the 30-year-old man who was in the control vehicle was announced, and the second man, aged 41, was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead."

It was explained that the incident occurred at 3:50 AM Hong Kong time under poor weather conditions.

The cargo plane was operated by the Turkish company AirACT on behalf of Emirates Airlines, with flight number EK9788, and had taken off from Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai.

According to a statement from the Hong Kong Airport Authority, the cargo plane, which had taken off from Dubai, had four crew members on board, all of whom were rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.
