Khaberni - Representing His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, held a meeting today, Sunday, in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, with the Slovenian Prime Minister Dr. Robert Golob, focusing on ways to develop cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The Crown Prince and the Slovenian Prime Minister confirmed their keenness on upgrading the relations between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership.
His Highness pointed to the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed today between the governments of Jordan and Slovenia in the field of digital transformation, emphasizing the need to continue expanding cooperation in various sectors.
The Crown Prince also stressed Slovenia's significant role in supporting peace efforts within the framework of the European Union, especially during its presidency of the Security Council starting from next December.
Discussing the situation in Gaza, His Highness and the Slovenian Prime Minister emphasized the need to maintain the ceasefire agreement and implement all its phases and end the war, highlighting the importance of the efforts of the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey that led to the agreement.
The two sided agreed on the need to enhance the humanitarian response in Gaza without interruption.
The meeting addressed the situation in Syria and the necessity to maintain its unity, security, stability, and territorial integrity.
On his part, the Slovenian Prime Minister affirmed the alignment of views between his country and the Kingdom in supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the two-state solution.
Golob emphasized the need to maintain comprehensive calm in the West Bank, noting the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi, the Director of His Majesty's Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh, and the non-resident Jordanian Ambassador to Slovenia, Mohamed Hindawi.
