Khaberni - The "iOS 26.4" system is expected to introduce an improved version of the voice assistant "Siri," supported by "Apple Intelligence" features, but not everyone is satisfied with the performance of the updated voice assistant.
Some software engineers at Apple have "concerns" about the performance of the updated "Siri", according to a report in Bloomberg's technology newsletter on Sunday.
"iOS 26.4" is likely to be released in March or April, so Apple still has about five to six months to fix any remaining issues in the updated version of its voice assistant.
When Apple first presented the new version of "Siri" at its developer conference in 2024, it said it would include three key capabilities: awareness of the content on the screen, personal context, and in-app control.
To illustrate these features, Apple showcased an iPhone user asking "Siri" about his mother's trip and lunch reservation plans, based on information from the mail and messages apps.
"Siri"'s updated version was initially expected to launch last year with the "iOS 18.4" iPhone operating system release, but Apple delayed it.
In July, Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, said his company was making "good progress" in developing a more customized "Siri," and that the launch of these features would be next year.
However, if the issues with the updated version of Siri continue, its launch with the "iOS 26.4" update might not be guaranteed.
