Khaberni - Sports reports stated that the star of the Argentina national team, Lionel Messi, is behind the decision to ban the famous Turkish chef, Nusret Gökçe, from attending the 2026 World Cup finals.
TNT stated: "The banning of the Turkish chef Nusret from attending the 2026 World Cup was due to his intrusion into Argentina's celebrations on the field after their victory over France in the 2022 final."
The story dates back to the controversy stirred by chef Nusret during Argentina's celebration of the 2022 World Cup victory in Qatar, after he went onto the field following the final match and attempted to take photos with the players, including Lionel Messi who appeared irritated by him in some shots, and he touched the World Cup in clear violation of the International Football Federation "FIFA" protocols, which restrict this privilege to the winners, heads of state, and a select few individuals.
FIFA did indeed conduct an internal investigation at that time, on how chef Nusret managed to gain unwarranted access to the field.
Following this incident, it was announced that chef Nusret was banned from attending the 2023 US Open Soccer Championship final.
As of now, neither "FIFA" nor any official body responsible for organizing the 2026 World Cup has issued a general ban on Nusret's attendance at the tournament.
