Saudi Arabia thwarts smuggling of 48000 amphetamine pills
السعودية تحبط تهريب 48 ألف حبة من الإمفيتامين المخدر

Khaberni - The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority in Saudi Arabia "ZATCA" at Al Haditha port seized 47,927 pills of the narcotic amphetamine "Captagon," hidden in one of the trucks coming to Saudi Arabia.

Official spokesperson for "ZATCA," Hamoud Al-Harbi, explained that upon the arrival of a truck to Saudi Arabia via Al Haditha port, and subjecting it to customs procedures and examination through security technologies and live means, that quantity of pills was found hidden in the consignment carried by the truck.

Al-Harbi added that after completing the seizure process, coordination was made with the General Directorate for Drug Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seized items inside Saudi Arabia, where they were arrested, totaling four individuals.

The official spokesperson of the authority confirmed that "ZATCA," through all its customs ports, is persistent in tightening customs control over the imports and exports of the Kingdom, standing firm against smuggling attempts, thus achieving one of the key pillars of its strategy represented in enhancing community security and protection, notably by reducing attempts to smuggle such scourges and other prohibitions.

Al-Harbi called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect the community and the national economy by communicating with the authority on the designated security reports number (1910) or via email (@zatca.gov.sa1910) and the international number (009661910), where the authority, through these channels, receives reports related to smuggling crimes, and violations of the unified customs system's regulations in complete confidentiality, offering a financial reward to the reporter if the information in the report is accurate.
