إدارة ترامب ستجمد 11 مليار دولار مخصصة لمشروعات بنى تحتية

Khaberni - Russell Vought, Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, stated on Friday that President Donald Trump's administration will freeze more infrastructure projects valued at $11 billion in Democratic states due to the ongoing government shutdown.

Vought said on social media that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will temporarily halt work on "low-priority" projects in cities like New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Baltimore, adding that the projects may eventually be canceled.

This funding includes $600 million for two aging federal bridges spanning the Cape Cod Canal in Massachusetts, which are scheduled for replacement with millions of travelers passing over them annually.

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and state Senate members stated that despite Vought's post, "we have received no information from the federal government regarding this action... This project is moving forward with funding appropriated by Congress with bipartisan approval and legally granted by the federal government."

The White House Office of Management and Budget said that Trump "wants to refocus on how the federal government determines the priorities for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects."

The American administration has already frozen funding for at least $28 billion designated for projects in the transportation and energy sectors in cities and states controlled by Democrats, as the president from the Republican party pressures his opponents in Congress to end the shutdown that began at the start of October.
