Khaberni - Hamas warned on Thursday against circulating rumors on social media regarding the fate of the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaidah, suggesting his imminent appearance or death.
The movement stated in a release that its agencies have detected "an increased circulation of such misleading news," which includes "clear security and moral objectives" aimed at damaging the movement and shaking the confidence of its ranks during this sensitive period.
The statement called for caution and to refrain from disseminating or interpreting unconfirmed information.
It is noted that Israel announced two months ago the assassination of the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaidah, in Gaza City, who was known for representing the movement on social media wearing a mask and keeping his identity hidden, which led Israel to target him at least four times, in 2008, 2012, 2014, and the most recent two months ago, where his assassination was officially confirmed.
