Collaboration with Jordan Foiling Drug Smuggling at Al Haditha Border Crossing in Northern Saudi Arabia

Khaberni - The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority "ZATCA" at Al Haditha border crossing seized 47,927 pills of the amphetamine drug "Captagon", which were hidden in one of the trucks coming to Saudi Arabia.

The official spokesperson for "ZATCA", Hamood Al-Harbi, explained that when a truck arrived in Saudi Arabia through the Al Haditha border crossing, and underwent customs procedures, and was scanned using security technologies and live detection methods, this quantity of pills was found concealed in the consignment carried on the truck.

Al-Harbi added that after completing the control process, coordination took place with the General Directorate for Drug Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seized items within Saudi Arabia, where four individuals were apprehended.

The official spokesperson for the authority confirmed that "ZATCA", through all its customs outlets, is steadfast in enforcing customs control on imports and exports of the Kingdom, and is vigilant against smuggling attempts, achieving one of the key pillars of its strategy aimed at enhancing security and protecting society by limiting attempts to smuggle such detriments and other prohibited items.

Al-Harbi called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect the community and the national economy by communicating with the authority through the designated number for security reports (1910), or via email (@zatca.gov.sa1910) and the international number (009661910), where the authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs System regulations confidentially, offering a financial reward to the reporter if the information is verified.
