Khaberni - The International Criminal Court rejected the appeal submitted by Israel to cancel the arrest warrants issued against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
In a decision that made headlines around the world, the International Criminal Court ruled in November that there were "reasonable grounds" to believe that Netanyahu and Galant bore "criminal responsibility" for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
The arrest warrants issued against Netanyahu and Galant caused outrage in Israel and the United States, which subsequently imposed sanctions on prominent officials in the International Criminal Court.
Netanyahu described the decision as "anti-Semitic," while then-president Joe Biden considered it "disgraceful."
In May, Israel had requested the court to cancel the arrest warrants while it was reviewing a separate challenge regarding whether the International Criminal Court had jurisdiction in the matter.
The court rejected the Israeli request on July 16, stating that there was "no legal basis" for the cancellation of the arrest warrants until the issue of jurisdiction was decided.
A week later, Israel sought to appeal the decision, but on Friday the judges ruled that "the case, as articulated by Israel, is not appealable."
