Khaberni - The Civil Defense in Gaza stated, on Friday evening, that the Israeli army committed a massacre against a Palestinian family after targeting a civilian vehicle carrying 11 people, without warning them following their crossing of what is known as "the yellow line".
The spokesperson for the Civil Defense, Mahmoud Basal, in a statement, explained that the vehicle was carrying 11 members of the Sha'ban family, including 7 children and two women, when it was targeted by the Israeli army in the Zeitoun neighborhood east of Gaza City.
He emphasized that "it was possible to warn them or deal with them in a way that wouldn’t lead to death".
Basal added: "But what occurred confirms that the occupation is still bloodthirsty, and persistent in committing crimes against innocent civilians".
Hamas comments
For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated that the occupation committed a new massacre by targeting the Abu Sha'ban family as they tried to inspect their home in the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
Hamas further stated that the massacre, which left 11 martyrs in the Zeitoun neighborhood, is a crime revealing the premeditated intention of the occupation to target civilians.
The yellow line is an imaginary line that separates the areas controlled by the Israeli army, which allows Palestinians to move within along the length of the sector.
The ceasefire agreement concluded between Hamas and Israel with regional and international sponsorship, which came into effect on October 10, 2023, stipulates that the Israeli army will partially withdraw from several areas in the Gaza Strip to new positions within the sector called "the yellow line".
Since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza on October 8, 2023, Israel has killed about 67,967 Palestinians and injured 170,179 others, most of them women and children, while the famine caused by it has claimed the lives of 476 Palestinians, including 157 children, and destroyed the sector, which needs 70 billion dollars for reconstruction, according to UN estimates.
