Khaberni - The International Body for the Support of Palestinian People's Rights (Hashd) has sent an urgent legal memorandum to several international bodies, including the Office of the Prosecutor for the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, the Special Rapporteur on torture, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, concerning the receipt of the bodies of Palestinian martyred prisoners from Israeli occupation prisons and the clear indications of field executions and systematic torture committed against them.
The body stated in its memorandum that its objective is to update the international community on the latest serious developments related to violations by the Israeli occupation authorities against Palestinian prisoners, especially in light of the recent handover of (120) bodies of martyrs killed inside Israeli detention centers under mysterious and suspicious circumstances, where their bodies were held for long months inside refrigerators, in a complex crime representing the most horrendous forms of genocide and inhuman treatment.
It confirmed that official medical examinations and field observations showed conclusive evidence of field execution crimes and brutal torture, including hand binding, blindfolding, bone fractures, burns, bruises, and the loss of human organs, which raises strong suspicions of organized organ theft. It also confirmed that the advanced decomposition of several bodies resulted from their prolonged detention inside refrigerators, pointing out that the nature of the injuries does not conform to the occupation's narratives about the causes of death, which proves the occurrence of killings and torture inside detention centers.
In the same context, the body pointed out that these crimes are part of a systematic Israeli approach that includes field execution, torture, rape, beating, and deprivation of medical treatment, as confirmed by released prisoners who reported experiencing tragic detention conditions. It also noted the ongoing enforced disappearance of thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where information about approximately five thousand missing persons is unavailable, while more than ten thousand bodies remain under the rubble, in the midst of the occupation forces preventing the entry of journalists, fact-finding teams, and necessary equipment to remove the debris estimated at more than 65 to 70 million tons and the presence of 20,000 unexploded ordnances, in a clear attempt to obliterate evidence and conceal crimes.
The memorandum emphasized that these actions constitute serious violations of international humanitarian law and amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity under Articles (7) and (8) of the Rome Statute, involving deliberate killing, torture leading to death, mutilation of bodies, and deprivation of the victims' relatives of their right to dignity and knowledge. It also stressed that the documented allegations regarding human organ theft and enforced disappearance require urgent international investigation and accountability of the parties involved.
In light of the foregoing, the International Body (Hashd) demands from the international entities:
An urgent international investigation into the crimes of execution and torture inside Israeli detention centers.
Allowing international fact-finding missions to enter the Gaza Strip to document medical and criminal evidence.
Investigating allegations of human organ theft and holding accountable the Israeli military and medical bodies involved.
Pressuring to open crossings and allow the entry of equipment necessary for debris removal and recovery of bodies.
Imposing international sanctions on the leaders of the occupation and those responsible for these crimes.
Enabling the International Committee of the Red Cross to fully monitor the conditions of the prisoners and ensure the access of independent medical committees to them.
Activating mechanisms for international accountability and compensation for destruction and civilian victims and stopping the double standards in dealing with the Palestinian issue.
The body concluded its memorandum by affirming that what is happening is not an isolated incident but a systematic policy that forms part of a system of genocide against the Palestinian people, urging the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to act immediately before it is too late.
