Khaberni - Dr. Anab: The menopause stage is not an end but the beginning of a new chapter of contribution and vitality.
The Jordanian Menopause Society celebrated World Menopause Day through a scientific and awareness day held at the Civic Club with participation from the Diabetes Association, Osteoporosis Association, and the Jordanian Nutrition Association, and the event was attended by a number of specialists and those interested in the health sector, and a large number of women.
Dr. Abeer Anab, Vice President of the Jordanian Menopause Society, emphasized in her speech during the ceremony that menopause represents a new start in a woman’s life and is not the end as some believe, pointing out that it can be a period full of activity and vitality if there is attention to the physical and psychological health of the woman.
Dr. Anab said that the aim of this day is not only to discuss symptoms or treatment methods but to extend it to improving the quality of life for women after menopause so that they live their coming years in health, comfort, and confidence.
She added that the quality of life is not only measured by the absence of disease but also by the presence of a balance between physical, psychological, and social aspects, explaining that regular physical activity, proper nutrition, good sleep, maintaining a healthy weight, and psychological and social support all form essential elements to enhance a woman’s well-being at this stage.
Dr. Anab emphasized that talking about menopause is a discussion about prevention, empowerment, and a healthy lifestyle, stressing that investing in a woman’s health after menopause is an investment in the community as a whole since she is a pillar of the family and a support of society.
In conclusion of her speech, Dr. Anab thanked the partners of the association in both the national and international health sectors and all the participants in this scientific meeting, hoping that this day will be a launch point for a broader vision for the health and quality of life of Jordanian women at various stages of life.
The celebration included a number of medical and awareness activities and entertainment, including a symbolic march in the corridors of the Orthodox Club, attending educational and awareness sessions about menopause and menopause alongside a free breast examination for women, osteoporosis testing, and examinations for sugar and blood pressure in addition to distributing educational pamphlets about the golden age and the importance of prevention and healthcare at this stage.
This activity is part of the efforts of the Jordanian Menopause Society to enhance health awareness and empower Jordanian women and emphasize the importance of caring for their health at all stages of life.
