Khaberni - Minister of Labor Khaled Al-Bakkar met with a number of his counterparts, labor ministers in Arab and Islamic countries, on the sidelines of the Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Al-Bakkar discussed with his Qatari counterpart, Minister of Labor Ali bin Samikh Al-Mari, ways of joint cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting discussed cooperation in the fields of labor affairs and the exchange of expertise between the two countries, in addition to exploring more opportunities to benefit from the qualified Jordanian talents for work in the Qatari labor market.
The ministers expressed their pride in the level of solid relations between Qatar and Jordan and their peoples, which were reinforced by the wisdom of the leaderships represented by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The ministers reviewed ways of exchanging expertise in the field of adopting professional standards, labor inspection within facilities, and enhancing occupational health and safety tools, towards a safe work environment for employees.
Al-Bakkar also discussed with the Saudi Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Athnain, areas of joint cooperation between the countries in the field of benefiting from Jordanian talents in the Saudi private sector.
The two sides discussed ways to benefit from the qualified and trained Jordanian workforce and the nature of the professions required to meet the needs of the Saudi private sector.
Al-Bakkar and Abu Athnain emphasized the need to establish a database of Jordanian talents to enable employers in the Saudi private sector to benefit from them in the future.
At the end of the meeting, Abu Athnain extended an invitation to Minister Al-Bakkar to attend the International Conference on the Labor Market, which will be held in January next year in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Al-Bakkar met with his Egyptian counterpart, Minister of Labor Mohamed Gibran, to discuss enhancing joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries and discuss a number of files related to the regulation of Egyptian labor in Jordan.
The two sides appreciated the experience of electronic linkage between the two countries, discussed some current challenges, and explored activating cooperation in the areas of vocational training, particularly in the mining, natural gas, phosphate, and information technology sectors.
Gibran appreciated the actions of the Jordanian Ministry of Labor that facilitated the affairs of the Egyptian workforce.
Al-Bakkar also met with his Turkish counterpart, Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, to discuss joint cooperation between the countries and exchange expertise in the field of vocational training.
Al-Bakkar appreciated Turkey's hosting of a group of trainers from the Vocational Training Corporation to benefit from the Turkish experience, emphasizing Jordan's keenness to market Jordanian talents in many regional and international countries, including Turkey.
The Turkish minister reviewed his country's achievements in training and preparing youth for the labor market needs, affirming their readiness to enhance cooperation between the countries.
Al-Bakkar also discussed with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Minister of Labor and Social Security, Anar Rahim Oglu, ways of cooperation between the two countries.
The ministers discussed joint cooperation mechanisms between the countries in the field of facility inspections to achieve the highest degrees of accuracy and professionalism in regulating the labor market.
The meeting touched on social security files and how to exchange experiences between the countries in this field.
Al-Bakkar appreciated Azerbaijan's role in organizing the fifth session of the Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
