Service and Public Administration Clarifies the Context of the Circulating Video of its President Faiez AlNahar

Khaberni - The General Administration and Service Authority issued a clarification regarding the circulated social media video clip of its president, Faiez Al-Nahar, during his meeting with the Administrative Committee in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

The Authority confirmed that the statement circulated about "seventy-three years for appointments in the public sector" was taken out of context.

The Authority clarified that the sentence came within the framework of an extensive explanation presented by Al-Nahar about the challenges of the rotation system in appointments, and the importance of moving to an open announcement system as a reformative step to enhance the efficiency of the government apparatus and improve its effectiveness, in line with the administrative modernization orientations in the kingdom.

The Authority pointed out that the mentioned phrase was in the context of clarifying the consequences of continuing to work with the inventory system and relying on it absolutely for appointments in the public sector (rotation and competitive ranking) hence the gradual transition to the open announcement system, which is one of the main pillars in the public sector modernization system that provides equal opportunities for everyone to compete for jobs in the public sector.

It indicated that the gradual transition to the open announcement system represents a reformative and strategic direction aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency, and fairness in occupying public positions, through attracting competencies based on the currently employed merit and skills criteria within modern human resource management policies.

The Authority confirmed that appointments in the public sector are ongoing according to its annual needs, estimated at approximately seven to eight thousand positions annually.
