7Year Prison Sentence for Cosmetic Surgeon Following Death of Former Egyptian Prime Ministers Granddaughter

Khaberni - An Egyptian court issued a 7-year rigorous imprisonment sentence against a famous cosmetic surgeon after convicting him of causing the death of the granddaughter of former Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal El-Din Hassan, due to a medical error during a cosmetic injection procedure before her wedding.

The investigations revealed that the victim suffered a pulmonary artery thrombosis following the procedure, according to the hospital's medical report, after the doctor neglected her condition despite clear indicators of danger.

The prosecution confirmed that the doctor did not comply with necessary medical procedures, which was considered gross negligence in the performance of his profession that led to the death.

In turn, the family's lawyer, Imam Al-Hafnawi, stated that the referral decision is a first step towards holding those responsible for the young woman's death accountable, emphasizing the continuation of legal proceedings to pursue all those involved in the case.
