Khaberni - Salem Al-Dawsari, player for the Hilal team and the Saudi national team, was crowned Best Player in Asia for the current year 2025.
Al-Dawsari, 34, won after competing with Akram Afif of Al Sadd and the Qatar national team, and Malaysian player Arief Aiman of Johor Darul Ta'zim.
This is the second time Salem Al-Dawsari has won the award, having previously won it in 2022.
Al-Dawsari won the award after a brilliant 2024-2025 season with Hilal, which he led to the semi-finals of the 2024-2025 Asian Champions League Elite, scoring 10 goals as the top scorer in the tournament.
He continued his brilliance with Hilal in the 2025 Club World Cup, reaching the quarter-finals, while continuing his strong presence on the international stage with the Saudi national team and leading them to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Salem Al-Dawsari is the first Saudi player to win the award twice, while it was previously won by Saeed Al-Owairan in 1994, Nawaf Al-Temyat in 2000, Hamad Al-Montashari in 2005, Yasser Al-Qahtani in 2007, Nasser Al-Shamrani in 2014, and again Salem Al-Dawsari in 2022 before he claimed it again today, Thursday, at the best awards ceremony, which was transmitted by the Asian Football Confederation on its official website.
Recently, Salem participated in the Saudi national team's qualification for the World Cup finals after contributing to the win against Indonesia 3 / 2 and the draw with Iraq 0 / 0 in the Asian playoff round qualifying for the World Cup.
