Israeli Police No Criminal Suspicion in Shooting Incident Near Egyptian Embassy

Khaberni - The Israeli police announced that there is no criminal suspicion in the shooting incident near the Egyptian embassy building in Tel Aviv.

The spokesperson for the Israeli police said in a statement, "Following a report about a shooting incident without injuries near the Egyptian embassy on Basel Street in Tel Aviv, preliminary investigations indicate that a border guard officer, who was on duty guarding the Egyptian embassy at the time, fired from his personal weapon after a clash with a delivery driver near the embassy."

He added, "The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old man from Rishon Lezion, who fled the scene, was found a few minutes later and detained for questioning along with the delivery vehicle. The background and circumstances of the incident are under investigation."
He confirmed that "there is no criminal suspicion."
The spokesperson for the Israeli police said in an official statement today, Thursday, that a policeman working as a guard at the Egyptian embassy in Tel Aviv had recently fired at a "suspicious vehicle" that approached the building.
No official announcement has been issued from Egypt at the time of writing this report.
