The King meets with members of the Hungarian Parliament in Budapest

Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II met in Budapest, on Thursday, with presidents and members of committees and parliamentary groups in the Hungarian Parliament, to discuss mechanisms for expanding cooperation in a way that serves the interests of both countries and contributes to achieving peace in the Middle East.

His Majesty the King pointed out the importance of the role of parliamentary friendship committees in enhancing political dialogue and building bridges of communication between the two peoples.

During the meeting, which was attended by His Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King's chief advisor for religious and cultural affairs and his personal envoy, His Majesty emphasized his keenness to expand bilateral cooperation which serves the interests of the two friendly countries, pointing to joint areas of cooperation in education, tourism, and trade.

The meeting addressed the most important developments in the region, where His Majesty the King stressed the need to ensure the implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza, and the urgent flow of sufficient aid.

His Majesty also pointed out that the region will not enjoy security and stability without the Palestinian people achieving their full legitimate rights, establishing themselves on their land, and the establishment of their independent state based on the two-state solution.

On their part, a number of Hungarian Parliament members emphasized the importance of expanding the horizons of cooperation between the two countries in various fields and deepening it, expressing their appreciation for Jordan's role in protecting the Christian presence in the region.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, the Director of His Majesty's Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Hungary, Mohammad Hendawi.
