Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing announced the commencement of the final phase of the rehabilitation works for the Eighth Bridge, which includes maintenance and replacement of damaged expansion joints on the bridge, within the first package of the bridge maintenance and rehabilitation project in the capital province.
The ministry clarified that the maintenance of the structural elements of the bridge, including cement-based painting, metal barriers (handrails), and other technical works, has been completed, indicating that the rehabilitation was conducted according to the highest international technical specifications and in both directions of the bridge.
It is scheduled that the replacement works of the expansion joints will require a partial closure of the traffic movement in both directions on the bridge, daily from 12 midnight until 6 am, for a duration of 10 days, starting tonight.
The ministry further highlighted that these works are a continuation of a comprehensive project for maintaining vital bridges in the capital, following the completion of the rehabilitation of bridges: Firdous in Marj Al-Hamam, Madaba, Qastal, and the entrance to Queen Alia International Airport, with the Eighth Bridge being the last station in this package.
The Public Works confirmed that, in cooperation with the Traffic Management and the Highway Patrol Directorate, temporary traffic diversions equipped with all public safety elements have been adopted to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the implementation period.
The ministry called on citizens and road users to adhere to the instructions of the field personnel and security devices, and to follow the rules of safe driving to ensure their safety and the safety of the workers at the site.
