Khaberni - Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mashaal bin Saud, Prince of the Al-Qassim region, directed the transfer of the incident of the mistaken body delivery at Al-Rass hospital to the public prosecutor's office, to take the necessary legal measures regarding it.
The Emirate of Al-Qassim clarified in a statement via its official account on the “X” platform that the Prince had previously directed the formation of a committee to verify the procedures taken in the body-switching incident, where the committee began its work and submitted its findings and recommendations.
Based on the committee's conclusions, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mashaal bin Saud directed the case to be transferred to the public prosecutor's office, and to write to the relevant agencies to study and review the agreements made between the parties involved in the delivery and receipt of bodies, to ensure the development of regulatory procedures and prevent such cases in the future.
Holding the negligent accountable and applying the regulations
His Highness also directed the application of regulations and instructions against those found negligent after proving shortcomings in the procedures, taking into account the actions taken by the public prosecutor's office, in addition to applying the health practice regulations against the health practitioners who were found to violate, and taking the necessary regulatory actions against them as per the approved procedures.
The committee's findings indicated that there was no criminal suspicion in the incident, and that what occurred was due to negligence and administrative failure by those responsible for handling the body in the relevant agencies.
Emphasis on oversight and institutional compliance
Prince Faisal bin Mashaal emphasized the importance of strict adherence to regulatory and oversight procedures in all health facilities, to preserve rights, maintain human dignity, and enhance institutional work quality according to the highest standards.
His Highness stressed that the directives taken fall within the framework of ensuring the application of systems with justice and transparency, and guaranteeing that such mistakes are not repeated in the future.
