Jordan  47 billion dinars worth of transfers via electronic wallets since the beginning of the year

Khaberni - The report of the Jordanian Company for Payment and Clearing Systems "JoPACC" for September 2025, showed that the value of transfers issued from electronic wallets reached about 4.69 billion dinars since the start of the current year, through about 70.9 million financial transactions executed via the "JoMoPay" system.

According to the report, the number of electronic wallet users reached 2.7 million by the end of September, an increase of 1.4% over the previous month, with Jordanians making up 87.8% of them, while the rate of non-Jordanian users was 12.2%.

The report indicated that money transfers accounted for the largest proportion of transactions executed via electronic wallets at 87%, followed by cash withdrawals at 1.4%, then purchasing transactions at 10.9%, while deposits constituted about 0.7% of the total movements.

In terms of value, transfers amounted to 464.9 million dinars during September, while cash withdrawals recorded 19.3 million dinars, purchases 62.3 million dinars, and deposits 12.1 million dinars.

These results reflect the growing role of electronic wallets in enabling digital payments and enhancing financial inclusion in Jordan, by offering fast and secure alternatives to traditional cash transfers, supporting the transition towards an advanced digital economy.

"JoMoPay" is an electronic system that facilitates payment services via mobile phones through electronic wallets, where electronic wallets are registered on the system for the purpose of exchanging financial movements between electronic wallets, and where the exchange occurs to and from bank accounts.
