Khaberni - Yasser Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Football Federation, revealed details about the participation of "Al-Akhdar" in the 2025 Arab Cup.
The 2025 Arab Cup will be held in Qatar during the period between December 1 and 18, with the participation of 16 teams, including Saudi Arabia.
In the last edition of the tournament (end of 2021), several teams played with their "second team" which included players not frequently participating with the first team, either to rest key players since the competition is held mid-season, or due to other commitments such as the Africa Cup of Nations or World Cup qualifiers.
Al-Misehal said in statements to the media about his country's team participation in the Arab Cup: "God willing, it will be a strong participation with the first team, and we will achieve results that satisfy the Saudi fans."
The president of the federation confirmed that the participating team is the same one that qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals, led by French coach Hervé Renard.
Under the guidance of Hervé Renard, the Saudi team qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals after a goalless draw with Iraq on Tuesday evening, in the Asian playoff qualifiers.
The draw placed the Saudi team in Group Two in the Arab Cup, alongside Morocco and two other teams, i.e., the winner of the Oman vs. Somalia match, and the winner of the Yemen vs. Comoros match in the qualifying playoff.
