Informed Official Source No Return to Winter Time in Jordan

Khaberni - An official source reported on Wednesday that there will be no return to winter time in Jordan this year, and the current time will be maintained.

The source explained that the Cabinet decided in 2022 to adopt daylight saving time year-round, which will also be implemented this year.

The source stated that the decision was based on a comprehensive study conducted by the government to assess the feasibility of maintaining daylight saving time, which showed that continuing with it allows for the longest possible use of daylight hours.

He indicated that adopting a single time system stabilizes the country's time in relation to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), contributing to the stability of international communication schedules according to the Kingdom’s satellite.

It is worth mentioning that about 60% of the world's countries do not change their time throughout the year, while 40% adopt a system of changing time between summer and winter, and some of these countries are moving towards permanently fixing the time.
